!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but they’ll require modification to fit, so it wasn’t just a couple hours of bolt in bolt out, so I havent actually put them in yet.
Yesterday I did some actual test fitting to see what modifications would be required. So for comparison on looks alone, enjoy these pics (project RuqSaq doing some subtle photobombing in the background)
and the rear
Size wise, and looks wise, I think they’ll be good, but some modification is required
Rear side bolsters are shorter on the Civic, I think to make these fit the easiest would be to re-wrap the TSX piece. There’s easy access to the backside so it’d be easy for someone to do at home.
The rear seat base the bolt on the rear is driver side for the TSX, and passenger side for the Civic. This would be easy to re-drill.
The rear seat base the two front friction clips are ~1 inch closer together than the the TSX ones, but with some minor bending these lined up. You have to clearance the Civic seat base’s foam for the TSX stiffening bar that is beneath the seat.
The Civic rear uppers clip that retains it upright does not line up with the TSX. This will be easily moved on the rear of the Civic seat.
The front seats, for the driver’s side the seat belt is mounted to the seat for the Civic, mounted to the chassis for the TSX. This is very easily resolved by removing the seatbelt from the seat and reusing the TSX seatbelt.
The front seats fit in position well, but the mounting plates have to be extended ~2 inches in width. A welded plate will suffice, and has been done for many other chassis where seats have been swapped.
In the pros column is that they fit the car well, I think they look good, I prefer fabric over leather, and the airbag plugs are the same and the design the same that I don’t get any warning lights. And overall it’d make my car unique, and I like being the first to try a thing.
Cons, lots of modifying, and I’d lose electric seat adjustment and position memory, and the seat heaters.
In another topic, I’m off to pickup a few sets of wheels from Craigslist for the TSX and the wife’s CR-V, and made these snazzy pics to do some comparisons
TSX would be getting Nissan Pathfinder wheels, that the seller has had on their Altima so actually has car sized tyres mounted not SUV sized. Will only need some hub centric rings to make them fit.
(stock is the top image, Nissan wheels is bottom)
and the CR-V is getting older MDX wheels. Which are identical in fitment down to the centre bore, as they are in fact Honda wheels of course

Why new wheels tho?

mostly becaue both cars need new tyres and new wheel/tyres are cheap when bought used

“The rear seat base the bolt on the rear”
I had a stroke reading this.
EDIT: I like the idea of the Acura wheels on the CRV, and even though it’s sacrilegious , the Nissan ones will probably look good too.

Fabric vs leather is no big deal, neither is manual adjust, but getting rid of heated seats on a daily would be a tough choice for me. And I live in Virginia.

I love my TSX seats, but I’m a surfer so I have Wet Okole seat covers from my Honda I had in Hawaii. They seem to fit ok. I throw them on when I’m moist. I’ll never give up the heated seats now that I have tried them. This place is colder than where I’m from in the winter! It’s nice after surfing in the colder months. My whole backseat is filled up with dog beds and blankets so we haven’t seen the actual seat since we bought it. I have a Wet Okole back seat cover too so the sand and crap never makes it to the seat.

and I in Colorado, certainly the heated seats on leather are a nice advantage. The need for heated seats does drop when its not freezing cold leather you’re sit ting on though.
But it’ll be a loss for sure if I proceed.

Best seats I've ever had we're headed plaid fabric seats in a gti. Changed my life

VW plaid seats are a very cool thing. I’m so glad they brought that style into the modern age.

At least for my 2008 TSX as a cost saving measure Acura headed the back and bottom of the drivers seat but only the bottom of the passenger’s side. I am guessing it is cost saving but I wonder if an engineer did the power calculations and having a full heated seat would have exceeded the alternator/power system output.

hmm, I shall have to check. I guess I’ve not sat in the passenger seat with the heater on. Yours might have just been broken on the upper portion
